Der Sommer mit den DümmerGänsen

A story of curious beaks, long necks and careful little webbed feet

Our goose summer of 2009 has turned into a children’s book, “Der Sommer mit den DümmerGänsen” (“The Summer with the DümmerGänse”), also for all nature lovers who have stayed young at heart. The idea was ours together; juli (Juliane Zinnemann) wrote and illustrated it.

But the book is not a retelling of our project: it follows two fictional characters and their three geese, and is inspired by what we ourselves experienced at Lake Dümmer. You can read how it really was in our project report.

The book accompanies the geese from hatching through their first flying lessons to the farewell in autumn. It tells what it means to be part of a goose family, but also what it means to let go.
